We encountered a problem with the wind and the stanchions at the start line. Due to a risk of injury, as the stanchions had started to fall, members of the National Guard lowered the stanchions for safety. This caused the end of the run route to be blocked, thus forcing the course to be shortened. We apologize if that disappointed anyone but the safety of our participants was our priority. Thank you for your understanding and all your support. |

Lt. Zilinski was killed in action in Bayji, Iraq on November 19, 2005. His story is short, 23 years, because he believed that ultimately the fighting in Iraq was protecting his fellow citizens in this great nation of ours. However short his story is, his friends and most of all his love of all people instructs us to carry on his name, to do something great to benefit many.

Additionally, by providing scholarships, the Fund invests in the future of high school students who embody the leadership qualities and community spirit of Lt. Zilinski. |
